The Kubus-Version 7.6 will be released for the operating systems Windows 10 and Windows Server 2012.

Furthermore the databases Oracle 11g (64 Bit) aund 12c (only 64Bit) will be released for:

- Windows Server 2008 R2 (x64),

- Windows Server 2012 (x64) und

- Windows Server 2012 R2 (x64)

4. User guide

New functions in the KUBUS 7.6 project structure:

Compatibility

1. This Kubus-Version is based on the database-version 44.8.

The previous Kubus-version (7.5) also requires the schema 44.8 and so that no DB evolutions are necessary when upgrading.

Databases updated to Schema 44.x can be used with the Kubus versions 7.2, 7.3, 7.4, 7.5 and 7.6. Previous versions of cube (up to 7.1) can not be used with 44.x DBs.

2. Only reports- and export form sheet – libraries of the version 49.1 can be used with this Kubus-Version.

3. This Kubus-Version works with the version 5.3 of the item data interface. This is not downwards compatible with previous versions.

General remarks

In this document, new or improved functions as well as solved and existing problems of the Kubus-Version 7.6 are described.

All solved ("Fixed") problems, which are enlisted in this document, are closed ("Closed") 2 months after the delivery of the version 7.6, if no reply is received from the customer. Naturally, there is an option to reopen a closed ticket in case of a separate request.

The Support (Hotline, Consulting, etc.) is provided only for the latest Kubus-Version as well as for the two previous versions.

We point out here that the Hardware-, Operating system- and Database requirements, which are necessary for the operations of Kubus, are provided by us any time on request in the latest version.

In case of installing a new Kubus-Version, we recommend to install also available updates for the appropriate version. Those can be downloaded from the Capgemini-Server (www.de.capgemini.com/KUBUS).

1 Functional enhancements

1.1 General

When checking an BoQ, whether IDs are duplicated or in the right order, base and variant positions, which by definition have the same ID, are no longer considered.

2000139 Option management: Table, Column Width, Layout

In Option management, under Column Properties Table, the frame has now been adjusted so that the column "Activability" is now displayed completely.

2059348 PS extention - Customisations in the user guidance

General:

To use the new functionality, user-dependent data are stored.

These data to be stored are settings of a KUBUS user session.

They are therefore stored in the user registry in the same way as the PS filter settings.

The new functions are controlled by two new buttons, which were added to the PS structure filter dialog.

Extentions:

1. The last open / close states of the DB category and DB nodes should be restored during the next PS setup.

2. The last used / opened "PS nodes" should be preselected during the next PS setup

3. The PS filter tree should be better synchronized with the PS view (opening and selecting of the analog node)

These three functions are activated in the PS filter dialog by selecting the check box "Use last used PS settings and selectings".

4. The last used / opened views should be opened again by double-clicking or by returning to the work item name.

This function is activated in the PS filter dialog by selecting the check box "Use last used work item views".

If these checkboxes are unchecked, the old PS behavior is effective.

1.2 Bid

2032276 Improve the default GUI behavior of table cells

The indication behavior of the cells after calling the funktion "Change oncost allocation.." in the "Table" view of the offer has been improved.

2047627 Cost type groups, Generation of values and representation

The display of the cells of Cost type groups (readonly or editable) in the view "table" of the offer has been improved.

1.3 Contract-BoQ

1409910 Overhead costs with more than two decimal places

In Option management of the contract-BoQ the number of decimal places can be set for the overhead costs (default: two decimal places).

This specification is taken into account in the basic data of the contract-BoQ; i.e. more than two decimal places can be considered.

1.4 Direct costs

1947414 Calculation of Discount factor, replace term "cumulative"

The term "Cumulative Computation of the discount factor " was replaced by " Multiplicative calculation of the discount factor ". (7.5 Upd. A)

2031029 DC-BoQ: Editing of text completions

The editing of the text completion was reviewed.

If the protection "Protect service description" is canceled in DC-BoQ, the text completions may also be changeable. (7.5 Upd. C).

1.5 Top sheet

1449025 Top sheet: Enhancement in Indirect costs

In the top sheet, the indirect costs for the selected sales-related IC are now displayed in brackets in ECY, as well as the percentage drawn on the bid price.

1.6 BoQ general

1896830 Duplicate window for short text

Double-click on the short text field opens not a short text window any more. The short text can only be accessed and edited via the standard view: "Short text".

2001245 Display long text

An additional checkbox was installed in the option management, with which the set text width can be activated or deactivated.

The setting occured via the node: KUBUS -> tab: RTF text view format - text width.

If the checkbox is activated, the text width is automatically updated in open long text views. This also applies to all text views.

1879950 BoQ comparison, further Enhancements

The values from the fields "Free text", "Free value" and "Free value in TCY" can now also be compared and accepted with the BoQ comparison.

2026423 BoQ comparison between different WI categories

The BoQ comparison is now also possible between WI´s of different BoQ categories.

Furthermore, with this extension, a value / several values can now be transferred from a P (position) into each corresponding P with an equal ID independent of the WI type.

- Step 1: transfer the values per position P into free columns using multiple processing

- Step 2: BoQ comparison with transferring (possibly with different WI type

- Step 3: Transfer via multiple processing to the desired target field

The dialog for the BoQ comparison (1st page) was adapted accordingly and the report interface extended.

Furthermore the reports for the BoQ comparison were adapted accordingly.

2040422 Short text editing

Descriptopn of changes: There are only the following options for editing short texts:

1. If the BoQ is not protected against changes use the table view and the short text column. If this is an LV whose short and long text is stored in the XHTML text format (standard for GAEB DA XML), the short text column can not be edited

2. In the Short text view, this behaves like the long text view. That means, the short text view can be used in custom views

The short text dialog for editing short texts doesn’t exist any more. This is now replaced by the short text view.

Therefore there is no longer the menu item function "Short text" as well as the key combination CTRL + F2 for opening the short text dialog.

The possibility to open the short text dialog by double-click the short text in the table view is not available any more.

The duration of opening the view REB recording sorted by Qsec-Items. + PRNo. (BoQ ID and page row number) was significantly reduced in particular with a larger number of quantity entries. (7.5 Upd. A)

If the text control is not installed correctly or the file is damaged, the message "The TX Text Control for short, long, or info text could not be initialized”.

	2.1 General
	1881748 The Filter of the work item direct costs remains active also in the bid Problem: The Filter functionality while simultaneously filtering the direct costs and the bid was faulty. For example, if the bid is opened in the table view and then filtered the associated direct costs-WI and the filter then deactivated carried bit no longer the correct values cumulation in the group levels and were shown no more values. Solution: The problem was solved. (7.5 Upd. A)

	1986869 Options dialog with hourglass (wait cursor) Problem: Depending on the type of option, the execution in the model and the GUI may take some time. However, the user did not notice that Kubus was still working Solution: In the options dialog a hourglass is displayed.
	1945203 Change OH German/English Problem: When switching the language version from German to English and vice versa, the language switch online help was not working properly. Solution: The Problem was solved. (7.5 Upd. A)
	1947433 OH not available Problem: When retrieving the online help a misleading message appeared, although the online help was not installed: „The Kubus-file does not exist in the selected path: <C:\Program Files (x86)\Kubus7\help_german\> It will reset to the default path. " Solution: The Problem was solved. Now the message appears: „The online help can not be opened!“ (7.5 Upd. A)

	2071776 View long text - Text completions - Performance Problem: The opening of the text extension dialog takes "long". Solution: This is caused by the initialization of the spell checker and the associated loading of the dictionaries. If the option "Check spelling during input" is deactivated, the text editor is now displayed immediately.
	2.3 Tender-BoQ
	1913027 Bid and direct costs are filtered -> close bid Prerequisite: A Bid and direct costs are filtered and the respective table views are open. Problem: As then closed the bid, the filter was removed in the direct costs and the entire direct costs WI was redisplayed. Solution: The filter in the direct costs WI remains and the table is not rebuilt. (7.5 Upd. A)
	1913027 Fixed bid price is not constant with UP shares 0.0 Problem: The distribution over the UP shares does NOT work when "grayed" (to be calculated) UP shares are initially 0.00 but costs were existing. Then the bid sum does not remain constant. Solution: The problem was solved.
	2033450 Checking oft the cost type distribution algorithm Problem: The cost type distribution algorithm with fixed bid price did not lead to the desired results, since only the costs and not the quantities were considered. A remnant of for excample 0.30 EUR can not be distributed to a position with a lot = 10,000, but rather to positions with amounts of <= 10. Solution: In addition to the costs, the relevant quantities are also taken into account in the apportionment allocation.
	2036146 Bid price not fix during input UP-fixed line Problem: The bid price has been fixed because of the function "Change oncost allocation". Then the BP does not remain constant (fixed) when entering CTG% values in lines which contain an UP fixed. Solution: In the case of items with an UP fixed, no mark ups can be entered.
	2054769 Rounding algorithmics bid oncost Problem: The interim results were rounded too early in the oncost distribution with a fixed bid price. SolutionThe rounding algorithmic in terms of the oncost distribution with a fixed bid price was improved.
	2062696 Oncost algorithmics for surcharge items in the bid Problem: When distributing a change to fixed items, the surcharge items were not considered correctly. Solution: Surcharge positions are correctly taken into account when distributing a change to the fixed items.
	2065485 Oncost distribution: special items Problem: In the distribution of a change to fixed items, the special items (alternative, Optional items excluded TP, day work items, Non-oncosted items, item not applicable) were not correctly considered. Solution: The exceptional items are now handled correctly and have no influence on the distribution of a change to the fixed positions.
	2.4 Contract-BoQ
	1957407 Problem with OC in EaCa/OB Problem: One EaCa/OB was established without overhead costs in the general settings. In the option managemer was in "Contract BoQ / Settings / OC-rate = 0%" set. Another user with the option settings "Contract BoQ / Settings / OC-rate = 9%" now opened this established EaCa / OB and found in the basic data the OC-rate 9% before. Although he opened the Evaluation View "Cost for contract / earned value" were there, the 9%.This occurred only when OC = NaN (empty), OC = 0.00% (equal to NaN) everything was OK. Solution: The Problem was solved. Only if a contract-BoQ is created, the default setting of OC is taken from the option manager. (7.5 Upd. A)
	1997028 View "Input Inv-/Perf-quantities" after funct.: Open related BoQ Problem: The contract BoQ has been opened in READONLY mode with the function "Open related BoQ ..." from the CCtrl. If you then opened the view "Input Inv-/Perf-quantities" in the contract BoQ this view was also in READONLY mode. Then the mode was switched to EXCLUSIVE Attempting to enter the last item / sub item or to enter an Perf quantity, Kubus was crashed. Solution: The problem was solved. (7.5 Upd. B)
	1997423 View "Input Inv-/Perf-quantities“ NOK Problem: If the view "Input Inv- / Perf-quantities" was opened in READONLY mode and then the mode was changed to EXCLUSIVE, the view was not updated. Solution: The problem was solved. (7.5 Upd. B)
	2.5 Reports
	1925639 Bid: Report bid Problem: When printing the report with the "amound carried over" option, then the No. of decimal points were not issued with the correct number of digits. Solution: The problem was solved (7.5 Upd. A)
	2013098 Quantity survey: report „Enclosure to invoice“ Problem: At the end of the report, a few blank pages were issued. Solution: The report has been corrected.7.5 Upd. B)
	2.6 DC
	1949361 Value / Time Analysis, display of BoQ structure Problem: Processing of BoQs. The view "Value / Time Analysis for BoQ structure" was opened and the display expanded to G1 level of the BoQ. Now only the evaluation unit was changed from year to month. Then the table view appeared fully expanded, e.g. also the positions. Solution: The problem was solved. The evaluation unit "Value / Time Analysis for BoQ structure" now retains the state of the expansion of the BoQ nodes when the view is updated, e.g. from year to month after changing the evaluation unit.
	1981781 Content "Cmp-ID (orig.)" is lost in the DC-BoQ Workaroung: Select the option: "Eliminate reference, copy component ID and estimated costs". Problem: As of version 7.4, the behavior has changed.That is, If the option "Eliminate reference, delete component ID, copy estimates costs" was selected while input a component, the field in the column "Cmd-ID (orig.)" was also emptied. (Column "Cmd-ID (orig.)" is only visible if "DC-BoQ \ Display" - "display components multicolumn" was deactivated in the option management). Solution: The problem was solved. 	1986643, 1986823 BoQ option: Display also sub-items of the components Problem: In the case of larger DC-BoQs with many components, the activation / deactivation of the "Display sub-items of the components" option could generate a high run-time requirement in the option management when updating the opend table. The dialog disappeared after a few seconds, but the access to the view was then not possible. The user did not notice that Kubus was still busy updating the table. This also applied in the same way to the indirect costs and components BoQ. However, since these BoQs are significantly smaller in the normal case, the problem did not occur here. Solution: After leaving the option management, the hourglass is now displayed and the performance for updating the table view has been significantly improved.
	2051352 Number of items in the basic data in minus Problem: In the basic data of an DC-BoQ, the number of items after copying by D & D in the structure view of a source BoQ in a new BoQ was negative. Solution: The problem was solved.
	2.7 Export templates
	2031875 Subco: Import GAEB 90 D84 Problem: If an XML export template already existed and then a new XML export template should be created, a crash occurred in cube. Solution: The problem was solved.
	2.8 Im- and Export
	1915849 Subco: Import GAEB 90 D84 Problem: When GAEB import tenderer prices could to come under the following conditions, that not all tenderer prices have been imported since the ID comparison between GAEB file and KUBUS Subco-BI failed: It must tenderer Prices are imported to positions with exuberant hierarchy levels are in BI non numeric before ID levels. Solution: The problem was solved. (7.5 Upd. A)
	2.9 Calendar
	1895812 Input date generates error message Requirement: In the "Period / Working Times" sheet, various from / to areas are specified. For example: Project period 1.1.2015-31.12.2020 a) 21.08.2015 - 31.08.2015 b) 08.10.2015 - 20.10.2015 c) 27.10.2015 - 30.10.2015 d) ... e) ... 	2015165/2023010 Calendar: Value working hours / day possibly incorrect Problem: When entering the from / to times for the current day, the working hours / day have not been updated. Solution: The problem was solved. (7.5 Upd. B)
	2022077 Calendar: Working hours are not updated Problem: If the last entry in the working hours was deleted, the working hours were not updated. Solution: The problem was solved.
	2.10 Cost control
	1952618 Amount in the variation order at reporting date change in CCtrl Problem: A notauthorisized optional variation order was transferred to the CCtrl and the costs were in addition to the potential in the reporting date in the "variation order" column yet. After the optional variation order was set to status = approved and the last reporting date was updated in CCtrl. In potential came in the "variation order" column any more costs (this is OK, because they are already included in the OB), but reporting date in the "variation order" column stopped the old cost. Solution: The problem was solved; this means: Only if a contract-BoQ is created, the default setting of OC is taken from the option manager. (7.5 Upd. A)
	2002261 Exp. actual incorrect in Ct Problem: Contract-BoQ (EaCA, OB available) is switched to an alternative structure and then a new Cost control is created. The exp.actual is not determined correctly. Solution: The problem was solved.
	1999896 New CCtrl -> Kubus stopped Problem: The table of a Contract BoQ is open and an alternative outline has been activated. If you then set up a new cost Ctr. / Hour Ctrl and assigned the open Contract BoQ, it came to a crash after confirming with OK in the assignment dialog Solution: The problem was solved.
	2.11 Costs elements

	1942770 Costs elements: View Estimate with CTK, unit costs are incorrect Problem: In the cost calculation an nested cost element was applied (cost element with internal positions). In the view "Evaluation of CTK totals + ADF " an ADF was entered and it was saved. If the cost element was marked in the cost calculation, the "Estimate with CTK" view displayed incorrect unit costs (the ADF was included in it). Solution: The problem was solved.
	1942770 Costs elements: UC in BoQ table view are incorrect Problem: When calculating costs, an incorrect value was displayed in the column "UC" in the table view if a discount factor was entered for the CTK used. The consolidation at position and group level was correct. Solution: The problem was solved.
	2.12 BoQ´s general
	1932446 Kubus / Edit ID Problem: In a WI it was no longer possible to assign the new ID respectively via the function "Allocate new ID (overall)". The ID completely changed for the whole WI. Solution: The problem was solved. (7.5 Upd. A)
	1962305 Copy/D&D, “Free value” etc. are missing Problem: The "free value", "free value in TCY" and "free text" columns were not copied during the drag + drop of BoQ items. The same was also true for the BoQ comparison when a BoQ was completed. Solution: The problem was solved.
	2001334 BoQ comparison UP/TP without differences Problem: The BoQ comparison had not detected a difference when comparing UP / TP (in TCY or ECY). In this special case the values were 0.000 and NaN. Solution: The problem was solved.
	1997812 BoQ comparison: takeover incorrect Problem: If a formula is stored in a number field, only the value was accepted, not the formula. On the next BoQ comparison, a difference was detected and displayed. Solution: In BoQ comparison, only the value is now checked, regardless whether it has been entered or calculated by a formula.

3 Current problems
3.1 Contract-BoQ
210844 Variation order and Oncost Includes a variation order at the end a S:S-item, then in the totals of the to be surcharged S:S-items (UP incl SDF respectively AwdL/unit) all items get included, the status of the variation order is not considered. However, only the variation order items can be taken into account, which themselves contribute to the group total, e.g. whose values TP or AwdL are not in brackets.
